Big Cedar and Kennedy Falls

The trail to Big Cedar and Kennedy Falls is very lush. The trail is very green and makes for a very nice hike. The trail leads to what some people think is the largest tree in the lower mainland.

Big cedar is a tree that was spared during the last clear cut of Lynn Valley. The tree is now about 4 meters (13 feet) in diameter. There are other trees growing out of it too. The tree is halfway to the waterfall. If you don't have much time you can turn back now. However, the waterfall is worth the extra time.

Kennedy falls is probably only about 7 meters tall but is quite beautiful. The water comes from Kennedy lake and goes into Lynn Creek.

We tried doing this trail one day in November when it was raining quite heavily and we had to turn back. There are several little creeks you have to cross on the way, and they were too deep and wide to cross during the heavy rain.
