Bowen Lookout was one of the first hikes we did once we really got into hiking. It is a pretty easy hike which most people could complete is about one hour (return). It is probably the easiest hike that gives a view of the Howe Sound. The hike starts at the Cypress Mountain ski parking lot. The trail splits a couple times with each direction having an option to get to Bowen Lookout so your path can easily vary from the path we took on the map below.
The view at the lookout is quite beautiful and a great place to go see the sunset. It's east facing and you only have about 30 minutes to hike back in the dark. Be aware that if you stay at the lookout past the sunset, it could get dark quickly.
This trail is in Cypress Provincial Park, so you must follow that park's rules.
We first did this hike March 7th 2015. We also stopped by the lookout on the way back from St. Mark’s Summit on November 15th 2015 to catch the sunset. There was nearly a foot of snow in the parking lot in November that year.
