The Grouse Grind is the most popular hiking trail in the lower mainland by far. This trail is so popular that hikers will often use someone's "grind time" when evaluating their's hiking capability. It is also a great way to get a "quick" workout outdoors.
We do the grind quite often in order to get in some exercise after work. That being said, we don't particularly like this hike. It is far too crowded, and the city keeps adding more and more stairs which makes the trail feel less and less natural.
Before going on this trail for the first time, be aware that it is a challenging hike that goes non-stop uphill and is quite steep.
Dogs, smoking and downhill travel are prohibited on this trail.
Be aware that this trail has open/closed hours. You will also need to make sure you arrive at the top before the Grouse gondola is closed for the evening.
