Mt. Burwell has our favorite view from a trail that starts in North Vancouver. It's a very long day hike, which some steep terrain and a little bit of scrambling, but it is so worth it.
Follow the train to Coliseum Mountain. From Coliseum Mountain continue is the direction you were heading when you came up. You will now be going down the other side of Coliseum. The trail from Coliseum to Burwell is only about 45 minutes one way.
When you are in the Coliseum Burwell col, you will have a great view of Cornett Lakes to the North and a great view of Hanes Valley to the South West.
On the peak of Burwell, looking to the North West and what seems like nearly straight down, you will see Palisade Lake. The big wall of a mountain directly north of you is Cathedral Mountain. If you look closely just to the left of Cathedral, but far in the distance, you will see Black Tusk.
